This collection of fiddle tunes contain some classic old tunes such as ‘the Hare’s paw’ which is seeing somewhat of a revival. Also included are some tunes which legendary Galway box player Joe Cooley used to play such as, ‘Lillies in the field‘ and ‘The Scotsman over the Border’.You will get used to tune tunes that are not suited to the fiddle and learn to adapt as you go along. These sound great on any instrument in my opinion and are session standards. As with all the tune collections on this site, there are easier ones. Start with ’The Hag at the Churn’ of ‘The Blackthorn Stick’ (one of the 1st jigs I learned) if you are learning and want to progress.
